Getting started

Open the Excel workbook your instructor provided for the assignment.
On the Home tab, click the GridProf Grader button to open the task pane.
Sign in with your authorized Google account.
Enter your answers in the workbook. As you work, correct answers are highlighted automatically and the task pane's progress bar updates; blank cells stay unmarked.

Requirements

Excel on Windows, Mac, or the web, signed in to a supported Microsoft 365 account.
An authorized Google account (your instructor or administrator grants access).
An internet connection. The workbook should be in automatic calculation mode to receive live feedback.

Common questions

I signed in but nothing happens / the button does nothing.

Make sure your account has been authorized for the assignment. If you see an "access requested" or "not authorized" message, contact your instructor to be added, or email admin@gridprof.com.

My answer cells show an error or "loading" instead of updating.

Confirm the workbook is in automatic calculation mode (Formulas › Calculation Options › Automatic) and that you are signed in. Give it a moment after signing in for the assignment to finish preparing, then re-enter the answer. Feedback appears as cell highlighting and in the task pane's progress bar.

Does the Add-in read my other files?

No. The Add-in only records activity for a recognized Grid Professor assignment workbook. See our Privacy Policy.
